UNIST, one of the world's leading research institutes, has been selected to provide world-class education to support the development of R&D management experts—the South Korean government's plan to cultivate more creative thinking in the city's business community by 2020.

On May 18, Mr. Gil-Bu Kang (National Assembly of South Korea) announced that UNIST has been selected as one of government support R&D projects. In conjunction with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) of South Korea, UNIST will be supporting the Ulsan region's fast-growing oil and gas, shipbuilding, and automotive industries for the next five years with the funding of $900,000 US dollars per year.

This Management of Technology (MOT) program at UNIST will appeal to technologists, technicians, and technical specialists who work in applied science, technology or trade fields. This unique program has been designed to prepare high-potential technology industry professionals to handle complex business problems, created by technology and innovation. Once the program is fully accredited by the Korean Ministry of Education, it will be run by UNIST with the support of MOTIE, South Korea.

Our graduate programs attract high-performing students from all over the world. However, the number of students that can be admitted to the MOT program is limited and selective. Typically, we admit approximately 30 to 40 new graduate students every year and this year we are recruiting 32 master's degree and 5 doctoral degrees.
